Responsibilities

• Prepare large quantities of food from established recipes and menus
• Store prepared food, and serve food to students during mealtimes
• Clean kitchen and working areas at beginning and end of shifts, and throughout the day
• Ensure food preparation and handling guidelines are observed to prevent foodborne illness
• Ensure that all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and that any defects are reported promptly to the catering manager or Site Manager in their absence
• Maintain temperature control standards for all food
• Assist with designing high quality, tasty and appetizing food for pupils, visitors and staff
• Ensure that all personal and food hygiene procedures are applied at all times

Qualifications

Candidate must have:

· A Certificate in food preparation and cooking, a Diploma is additional advantage.

· Willingness and awareness

· An ability to work with individuals, families or whole communities

· Excellent oral and written communication skills in both Swahili and English.

Candidate must be:

· A born-again Christian of the highest integrity.

· A team player.

· Self-motivated.

· Adaptive

· A good communicator.

· An effective manager of time.
