About the job

  • Develops and implements overall project plan, including cost, schedule, risk and performance and monitors progress against business key objectives and goals for newly establishing pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
  • Coordinate with site construction and installation teams to ensure the timely build-out and implementation of facility’s project.
  • Work with regulatory bodies, contractors, suppliers, and government agencies as required to support the facility in a sustaining role.
  • Ensure location and building should comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards. Ensure adequate spaces and flow planned for receiving / storing materials, manufacturing process areas, quality controlling processes, offices, rejected goods and wastes.
  • Prepare project bid specifications for contractor/equipment requirements. Invite offers against specifications. Initiate purchase orders.
  • Lead generation and prospecting focus in the Drug Marketing. Develops list of medicines to be manufactured, strategize drug marketing strategies for listed drugs.
  • Assist in acquiring NOCs from required departments whichever applicable like environmental protection board, occupational safety and health association, etc.
  • Develops departmental SOP’s and policies as necessary for Quality Management System, Administration Policies and Procedures, Health & Safety Policies and Procedures, departmental KPIs development.
  • Develops and implements human resources needs, recruitment procedures, requirements, resources establishment.
  • Developing materials specifications and standards as per pharmacopeial specifications, finding suitable vendors, performing supplier negotiations, forecasting quantities for ordering.
  • Assist in commissioning of plant facility, audits preparation for approval processes, initiation of formulation development activities and drug registration filings.
  • Identify prioritization and resources needs for assigned project and activities with supporting cross-functions.
  • Develop cost estimates, resource and planning schedules, and obtain approval.
  • Monitors and reports project costs, including values committed, forecast to commit, allowances for growth, and actually expended.
  • Prepare project timing plans based on the required implementation schedule of new installations and processes.
  • Ensuring the timely review of project execution plans and schedules to achieve project milestones.
  • Review contractors' schedule reports and recommend corrective action where necessary.
  • Leads the team in appropriate decision making through strong judgment and the ability to analyze options and implications.
  • Prepare regular and timely progress reports, detailing progress against plans and budgets for circulation to management.
  • Provide timely communication on project progress updates to all relevant cross-functions and levels within the organization, including presentations to senior leadership.
  • Lead strategic engagement to develop long term, enterprise-wide partnerships with pharmaceuticals, biopharmaceutical, and CRO clients.
  • Become a subject matter expert on Current Health’s offerings and reliably represent our capabilities to advance the drug development, delivery and research priorities.
  • Should have a deep understanding of pharmaceutical and drug development industry and have significant prior experience in the space.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Broad-based, established Pharmaceutical Operations professional with a pharmacy degree (Pharm-D, B-Pharmacy or equivalent)
  • Proven management skills with a master’s degree in Business Administration and Management is preferable.
  • Minimum 8 years proven track in Pharmaceutical industry and operational site experience in Production, Quality, R&D/PDU, Business Development, Medical Affairs.
  • Used to work with a large range of cultures.
  • Practical experience as manufacturing industrial pharmacist is a must.
  • Qualified Person to understand challenges and requirements of end to end supply chain for pharmaceutical products
  • English fluent. International travel

Additional Notes

This job role is responsible for technical authority for establishment of new pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, 360 degree holistic vision of pharmaceutical operations is necessary to deliver performance.

  • Combining scientific and managerial skills, Project Manager must use a specific mixture of technical professional skills in order to do his job well.
  • Project Manager must have strong communication skills. Being in charge of managing and interacting with teams tasked with installations for pharmaceutical manufacturing unit is a heavy responsibility; there is little to no room for mistakes in written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations to clients, vendors and other employees of the organization.
