Being distributed isn’t just a way of doing business—it’s a mentality that is at the core of our culture.About the Role:As the Product Lead for the Application Experience team, you’ll be responsible for leading the vision, direction, and overall success of the user experience platform at Elastic, which is built around Kibana. The team has an ambitious dual charter - provide a set of key experiences and services that cater to Security analysts, DevOps / Observability engineers, and Search admins; and also build the key platform components and services for our internal Solution engineering teams to build market leading experiences in Security, Observability, and Enterprise Search. We believe that developing this way, with the platform providing key experiences like building custom visualizations and dashboards and solution engineering team building curated experiences on top of the platform, gives our customers the best of both worlds - a great solution experience, with the ability to drill down and analyze the raw data whenever needed.The Application Experience team includes the core UI platform, intuitive data exploration, visualization and dashboarding, rich alerting with automated response actions, and is also home to our Machine Learning capabilities. This diverse team is highly visible and central to our vision and success.We are looking for an experienced product leader to be responsible for ensuring that our tens of thousands of customers and millions of end users have a great experience in Kibana, whether they’re exploring, visualizing and sharing data, managing the Elastic Stack, or using one of our Solutions. We are looking for a person who has helped define the vision and made critical decisions in the evolution of a big product and platform over multiple years and who has experience leading and growing an impactful product management team.What you will be doing:

• Work closely with the Application Experience Team and Tech leads to define and maintain a shared vision for the future of Kibana
• Lead, develop and grow a team of highly skilled Product Managers.
• Drive growth of the platform by continuously iterating and improving the user on-boarding and ongoing product experience.
• Work with downstream product and engineering teams at Elastic to discover, align, and prioritize their needs
• Engage with our Sales & Marketing teams on go-to-market, messaging, competitive analysis and enablement.
• Collaborate with our community team on promotional activities for Elastic users across the world.
• Gather market competitive and trend data, customer and community feedback and usage information to develop product insights.

What you bring along:

• You bring a minimum of 10 years in Product Management, of which at least 5 years have been spent leading product teams and managing highly visible products for developers or technical practitioners, such as security analysts or DevOps engineers
• Excellent written and spoken communications skills
• Proven understanding and ability to talk to database/search system internals
• Solid understanding of B2B business models and sales motions
• Curiosity and an open mind
• Ego-free attitude — we are here for the success of the team and the company
• Empathy, transparency, and a good sense of humor

Experience/interest in some of these areas would be nice:

• Direct experience with the Elastic Stack, or experience with one or more of our common use-cases, such as application search, logging, metrics, APM, business analytics, security analytics, etc.
• Comfort working in a very cross-functional role, with a highly distributed, global team
• Open source software and/or commercial open-core companies and license models
• Experience with products offered both via SaaS and self-managed
