Often invisible to guests, the back of house team keeps things running smoothly, whether you’re working in IT, Finance or Reservations, you’ll be supporting and contributing to something special. Mount Nelson Hotel is looking for a Junior IT Support Technician to join the team.

Responsibilities include
• Resolution of support tickets assigned by the Area I.T. Manager or automated, based on skill sets.

• Track and co-ordinate IT service requests to ensure that incidents are resolved timeously.
• To communicate and provide recommendations to the Area I.T. Manager.
• Report any problems/complaints to the Area I.T. manager.
• Liaise with other departments to ensure good communication and offer support.
• Assist all staff with computer related enquiries and problems.
• Assist all guests with technical issues relating to connecting to or using Internet facilities in the hotel.
• Check daily that backups are working, and that servers and services are running.
• General IT administration.
• PC maintenance/Troubleshooting on the Windows platform/PC updates and upkeep/Software installation.
• Network, hardware & software monitoring and support for both local and remote sites.
• Maintain systems to ensure quality control.

Requirements
• Matric certificate
• Relevant IT Diploma or Certificate (A+ and N+).
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
• IT administration and Desktop Support experience essential.
• Good understanding of basic network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, FTP and SMTP.
• An understanding of networking and desktop technology, and also in room technology such as TVs, IP telephony etc- beneficial.
• An understanding of technology in the hospitality industry -beneficial.
• Ability to interact and communicate on all levels.
• Good time management skills.
