JOB SUMMARYN / ADUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i.Provide advice on the preparation, processing, drying and storage of fish and fishery products;
ii. Inspect and monitor the quality of fishery and seaweed products in accordance with national and international standards;
iii. Supervise and advise on the Regulations for Quality Control of Fisheries and Algae Products;
iv. Controlling fish quality in malls, markets, factories and warehouses;
v.Control hygiene in fish and algae receiving areas;
vi. Inspecting processing factories, fishery storage warehouses and vessels for the export of fishery products in accordance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point);
vii. Verify various documents for the production and export of fishery products and seaweed; and
viii. To perform such other functions as may be assigned to him by the head of the Unit relating to his profession.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Employed with one degree in Fish Technology, Marine Biology and Applied Microbiology, Fisheries Sciences and Microbiology from the University of Dar es Salaam; Food Technology and Microbiology from Sokoine Agricultural University or a similar qualification from other government recognized universities.
