Take your first step to joining our dedicated team by applying today.Primary PurposeUnder minimal direction, this position is responsible for the development, implementation and daily operations of all Oracle and SQL database environments throughout the organization along with the development, implementation, and daily operations of interfaces for non-medical data. Responsibilities include managing a team of Oracle and SQL database analysts, the interface development team, and providing related direction to business management. Other responsibilities include working with vendors to understand and provide automated interface solutions. Works with senior director within the department. Works closely with senior management regarding highly sensitive financial or operational decisions and has a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of business operations.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.Assures quality customer service to all customers.Hires, supervises, trains, and evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Identifies and effectively resolves personnel issues.Assesses business needs and innovates database solutions for application and support tools.Oversees that standard database coding techniques, standards, and data retrieval methodologies are utilized.Plans integration and directs implementation of database application data with other reporting sources (e.g., data warehouse, third party databases, and client reporting tools).Oversees the coordination and implementation of upgrades of databases and applications.Provides a strategic level of technical leadership to the database and interface team, IT, and the enterprise.Oversees the establishment and enforcement of security standards for databases and interface.Ensures management of database recovery and restart procedures.Remains abreast of changes and developments in the industry. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships both inside and outside the corporation.Assists in developing and monitoring assigned budgets.Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.RequirementsKnowledge/EducationBachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.Knowledge of Oracle and SQL, language, utilities, and database applications required.Knowledge of interface development required.Licenses/CertificationsProfessional database certification preferred.ExperienceEight years’ experience with database management and/or interface development required.Five Years’ Leadership Experience Required.Strong knowledge of database technologies and tools including Oracle, SQL Server, and all other desired database servers required.Familiarity with the database framework of enterprise architecture required.Strong knowledge of interface development tools and strategies such as Informatica, Cloverleaf, Jitterbit, Mulesoft or other interface tools required.Strong knowledge of interface patterns such as EDI, API and/or HL7 required.Familiarity with ITSM concepts and processes required.Skills/AbilitiesAbility to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.Ability to provide direction to technical team.Ability to analyze functional problems and develop sound effective solutions.Ability to manage multiple differing level priority projectsAbility to build and maintain relationships with external and internal vendorsAbility to collaborate with business and IT partners to solve business challengesStrong presentation, interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.Strong supervisory skills with the ability to effectively utilize and develop personnel to execute job tasks.Excellent organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to plan and organize a diversified and heavy workload.Must maintain confidentiality.DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION AT VITALANTVitalant is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace built on a foundation of respect, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.
