ABOUT GEITA GOLD MINING LTD
Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. The company has its head office in Geita, only 5 Km’s west of the fast-growing town of Geita, and also a supporting office in Dar es Salaam. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Purpose of the role is to perform and complete all task assignment safety, using correct method and safety precautions to the required quality standard, completing task on time effectively using the resources, given for each task. Execute all planned and unplanned tasks and release the equipment safely to the mining operation team
QUALIFICATIONS:
VETA Trade Test Certificate Grade one in welding and Fabrication or its equivalent

EXPERIENCE:
At least 2 years’ working experience or above in Mining industry as a Welder
Must possess Valid Tanzania Driving license
MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Measuring and cutting materials to specifications
Welding materials using the correct materials to join the metals together
Checking finished work to make sure that it falls within the tolerances marked on the blueprints
Reading and understanding blueprints prior to start a project.
Be able to adhere to all safe working practices and procedures in the HME workshop welding section and GGM at large
Conduct inspection of equipment’s for cracks damages or defects and records findings
Be able to plan work before execution
Repair equipment and report completion of tasks to Senior Supervisor
Do all grinding works
Meet work delivery deadlines to minimize the demand for resources without exceeding the required by date for work completion
Observe all safety requirements relevant to the job in hand
Report to Supervisor any unsafe equipment immediately
Carry out work as required or directed
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Competent in using Mig Welding
Should be a good team player
Demonstrate a good commitment to deliver
Positive attitude towards safety and environment compliance
Should be ready to work under pressure with tight deadlines and minimal supervision
