This position will break down the expenses from all shipping vendors through data analysis to find cost saving and performance opportunities.Duties And ResponsibilitiesPerforms all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of management.Assures quality customer service to all customers.Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.Provides value for the customer by supporting departmental and individual goal achievement, effective communications, process improvement and compliance.Demonstrates respect for all team members by seeking input on processes and problem solving, communicating key information, collaborative teamwork and supporting a culture of diversity.Monitors the performance of the carriers to ensure they meet the needs of the Vitalant donor centers, testing centers, manufacturing labs and hospital services. Transportation modes include air freight, ground freight, internal couriers, and external couriers.Maintain shipping data base with regular updates from vendors and Vitalant departments.Collects and summarizes carrier performance by vendor. Collects, interprets, and analyzes various types of logistics data including reliability of transport, delivery, and distribution networks.Reviews blood product movements, processes, and procedures; identifies, recommends, and implements improvements to maximize delivery efficiency while minimizing costs.Reviews and analyzes transportation costs, ensure contracts follow standard cost templates. Perform project tasks independently.Coordinate with appropriate stakeholders to provide presentations on standard reviews, policy adherence.Participates in the performance assessments and reviews of the carriers conducted by Supply Chain Sourcing Management.Assures claims are made for carrier service failures and that all refunds are collected for which Vitalant is entitledPerforms all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.RequirementsKnowledge/EducationBachelor’s degree in Business Analytics or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field required.Excellent Analytical And Quantitative Skills Required.Extremely Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access required.Strong knowledge logistics and production planning concepts preferred.Licenses/CertificationsNoneExperienceThree years of experience in a Finance Analyst, Logistics Analyst or equivalent role required.Required experience with analytics tools including (but not limited to) Power BI, Excel, MS Projects, PowerPoint, and MS Suite required.Skills/AbilitiesMust possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.Must be able to maintain confidentiality.Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.Strong oral presentation and technical writing skills.Excellent analysis, planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.Ability to plan and organize a diversified and heavy workload.Ability to make sound decisions and work well under pressure.Proficient in computer databases, logistics programs.DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION AT VITALANTVitalant is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace built on a foundation of respect, integrity, teamwork, and excellence.
