Tanzania Cheshire Foundation (TCF) in partnership with Leonard Cheshire (LC) have been awarded a three-year grant to deliver an innovative Inclusive-Education Project in Tanzania.

TCF and LC in partnership, are excited to be commencing work as part of a wider consortium on this new multi-year Disability Inclusive Development (DID) project in Shinyanga City, Shinyanga district council in Shinyanga region and Misungwi in Mwanza region of Tanzania, in line with the National Inclusive Education Strategy (NIES). The project aims to increase the enrolment and retention of children with disabilities in education, to increase their learning and improve their life-chances focusing on inclusive education for pre-primary and primary school-going age children.

LC is part of the Inclusive Futures consortium, funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The 16 Inclusive Futures partners are working together to include people with disabilities in health, work, education, and tackle stigma and discrimination through the Disability Inclusive Development (DID) programme. Together we are using a range of innovations to promote the importance of disability inclusion, aligning closely with the work of governments.

TCF and LC in partnership as part of a wider consortium will work closely together with government officials and OPDs as well as a range of stakeholders at local level, striving to improve the implementation and accountability of inclusive education in Tanzania.

About the role

The Consortium Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient programmatic and financial delivery of the Disability Inclusive Development Programme (DID-IE) in Tanzania. This role will demand a confident project manager who can coordinate the Consortium on behalf of LC as the Consortium Lead and in tandem, deliver TCF project activities. The post holder will work in close coordination with internal technical and programmatic teams as well as leading partners and external stakeholders in the consortium.

About you

First and foremost, you must be passionate about and committed to disability inclusion and safeguarding and be personally driven to make a difference in the lives of children. You must have proven experience of working in a consortium programme dealing effectively with multiple stakeholders across government, OPDs, and with local community groups.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager with excellent communication and relationship building skills to coordinate and manage the consortium. Excellent written communication in English is critical as report writing (narrative and financial reports) is important.

Experience in project cycle management, MEL and managing inclusive education programmes is essential. Experience of working in matrix relationships and remote line management is desirable.
