JOB DETAILS:
Purpose of the role:
Purpose of the role is to assist Senior Supervisor to execute lubrication works safely and responsibly within the process plant (i.e., Preventive Maintenance, Maintenance Breakdowns). The role will be assigned to a specific section of the plant by the maintenance superintendent and will be working under the immediate supervision of the crew Supervisor and the sections Senior Supervisor.
Qualifications:
• Form IV Secondary Education with VETA Qualification Grade I or Full Technician Certificate (FTC) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Basic Computer Knowledge.
• Driving Competency with Tanzanian Driving License for light vehicles.

Experience:
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in supervising fixed Plant Maintenance involving heavy duty lubrication and hydraulic system, mining, or any related similar industry with specific experience in the following equipment:
• Crushers – Gyratory and Cone
• Mills – SAG and BALL
• Pinions
• Thickener drives
• Hydraulic drives
• Slurry Pumps
• Conveyor Gearboxes
• Plummer blocks
Main or key accountabilities:
• Observing all HSE Policies and Procedures relevant to the job in hand
• Participate and contribute to the compliance to National and International Standard guideline and regulations such as NEMC, OSHAS, ICMI, IMIU, ISO14001, ISO45001 etc.
• Coach / mentor subordinates in the safe facilitation of their tasks, their safety related training, ensure compliances on all trainings, permits required in team is up to date.
• Utilize all necessary permits where required, ensure prompt reporting of all injuries, illness, and safety incidents immediately.
• Allocate and control resources / consumables on team accordingly. In short, seek ways to reduce cost as much as you can.
• Report all incidents immediately and participate in investigations and remediation activities.
• Remove all contaminants or left-over materials associated with lubricants immediately and ensure good housekeeping in area of responsibility.
• Tag out and report any unsafe equipment immediately, taking care of your own personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory.
• Routine inspection of a range of different Fixed Plant equipment to ensure they are lubricated and functioning correctly.
• Carrying out planned and unplanned (breakdowns etc.) maintenance tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
• Driving the safety leading indicators such as Safety Interventions, PTOs, inspections etc.
• Report any lost or damaged equipment on time, ensure performance reviews are done correctly and on time.
Additional requirement:
• Be able to differentiate properties of base Fluids (oils) and Greases.
• Be able to read, understand lubrication terminologies.
• Be able to understand the application of oil lubrication versus Grease.
• Be able to know the guideline for the selection of a grease and fluid lubricant for a specific application.
• Demonstrate Leadership and good teamwork must be able to solve problems.
• Be able to work under pressure with zero supervision.
• Demonstrate a good commitment to deliver.
