Description

Position : Reservation ManagerThe reservations manager will be responsible for all reservations, group sales and meeting and events business for the Spice Island Hotel and Resort. You will manage the Central Reservations Department ensuring all enquiries are professionally dealt with, through maximising revenue opportunities with upselling techniques and proactively converting sales enquiries.

The reservation manager will have the following duties:

  • Communicating with guests, travel agents, the general manager and the accountant
  • Responding to reservations arriving by email, telephone or through the in-house reservation system.
  • Maintaining the in-house reservations systems
  • Maximising the use of all distribution channels to ensure book-ability and market penetration
  • Handling inventories for the rooms of the hotel
  • Knowing the type of rooms available as well as their location and layout.
  • Knowing the selling status of rates, and benefits of all package plans and contracts.
  • Knowing the credit policy of the hotel and how to code each reservation.
  • Processing cancellations and modifications and promptly relaying this information to the front desk.
  • Understanding the hotel's policy on guaranteed reservations, provisional bookings and no-shows
  • Forecasting revenue streams
  • Analysing and provide weekly, monthly and 4 month forecast summary updates with recommendations to improve long term strategies.
  • To be aware of all front office procedures and assist with reception duties when required.
