Today, the company employs 85 people in Estonia and 300 people globally and is about to launch further offices and products in Africa, making this a highly exciting and unique time to join a successful, fast-growing international business.

We are looking for a French-speaking, diligent, professional, and well-organized specialist in taxation who will report directly to the finance operations manager. As the tax specialist for the organization, you will enjoy being able to advise and support on all matters relating to both direct and indirect taxes across each of the African jurisdictions.

What You will be doing:

  • Stay up to date on any changes that are related to taxes in each of the jurisdictions and communicate accordingly across the wider business
  • Ad hoc projects as required to ensure we remain compliant in all areas relating to taxes
  • Oversee tax payments and tax forecasting
  • Build relationships with colleagues across the business and with external tax advisors
  • Be a key participant in the business growth with regards to taxation legislation investigation in new countries
  • Support the business operationally, on all transactions including go-to-market strategies, and mitigate adverse tax impacts
  • Advise management on future changes to tax regulations and possible impacts on the organization.
  • Develop recommendations to keep our business compliant with various local, state, and federal tax regulations.
  • Ad hoc projects as required to ensure we remain compliant in all areas relating to taxes

What you have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Specialist and thorough knowledge of taxes
  • African tax experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Ability to identify control weaknesses and recommend and implement solutions to resolve these areas.
  • An ability to demystify complex financial concepts for non-financial colleagues
  • Excellent planning, attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
  • A high level of knowledge of financial transaction taxes
  • Proficient in the use of IT systems
  • proven experience in problem-solving, process improvement, and delivering change
  • A team player: Demonstrates passion, energy, drive, and a willingness to collaborate within a small team locally and a much larger team internationally
  • Excellent planning, attention to detail, organization, and time-management skills
