Summary, Primary Duties, Skills And Experience
Job Summary:We are looking for a dedicated Genomic Data Scientist located in Europe, to support our European and global customers. The Genomic Data Scientist serves as first line of customer contact on data analysis related technical inquiries, provides technical support to inbound cases, and works collaboratively to provide quick resolution to complex issues and questions, as well directly interacts with internal development team to drive product improvement.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answer, evaluate, and triage incoming queries from customers.
- Provide technical guidance, identify, troubleshoot, follow-up and resolve technical problems and inquiries.
- Triage issues and work with field team or development team to ensure cases are routed to the proper resource to be resolved quickly and efficiently.
- Help configure Customer systems & data to work with Bionano software products.
- Provide critical product improvement feedback to development teams.
- Attend internal trainings and recurrent meetings.
- Participate in the creation, refinement, and provision of technical documentation, videos, procedures, and knowledge articles.
- Support other functions across the region and globally and serve as software expert to facilitate knowledge sharing.
Preferred Skills/Abilities:
- Experience working with high throughput platforms such as microarrays and NGS and their application in particular structural variation and copy number analysis.
- Outstanding communication and organizational skills with the ability to quickly hone requirements for addressing customer needs.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills required.
- Practical experience with networking and administration of Linux and Windows servers.
- Experience with Perl, Python, R, bash or SQL in a Linux environment.
- Effective time management skills and the ability to work remotely.
- Must be able to work effectively as part of a team while remaining capable of performing independently.
- Ability to provide support to our customers during their working hours (EMEA region).
- Fluent in English and an additional language (main European language preferred).
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Master's degree or PhD in Bioinformatics or related field and a minimum of 2 years relevant industry or research experience in genomics or human genetics
- Previous experience in a direct external customer support or customer training role in the Life Sciences industry is preferred.
