DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES | i.Manage the conservation of fishery resources and its environment; ii. Design various methods and strategies to control and prevent illegal fishing in accordance with the Fisheries Act and its Regulations; iii. Coordinate and supervise work at the Fisheries Patrol Center; iv. Managing maritime, land and air patrols in the inland waters and the entire Economic Exclusive zone (EEZ) as well as border areas and airports; v.Develop sustainable harvesting of fish and other marine life, lakes, rivers, dams and lakes; vi.Provide expert advice on good fishing; vii.Doing activities related to community participation issues in fishing development activities; viii. Issuing fishing licenses; ix. To operate Fisheries Observers in fishing vessels; ix. Conducting fishing professional training; x.Managing the collection of fishing data as well as revenue; xi. Coordinate fishing research activities; xii. Provide advice and training to the community on the development and sustainable use of fishery resources; and xiii. To perform such other functions as may be assigned to him by the head of the Unit relating to his profession.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE | Employed with a Bachelor Degree in Fisheries Science from the University of Dar es Salaam or from any Government recognized college. |
