The Company: At Atral, we aim to solve problems in the medical field by innovating and creating better diagnostic tools with cost-efficient engineering strategies. We want to change how lives are saved.

Our current product, Box.E, is a small, portable and cost-efficient vitals’ sign monitor aimed at improving diagnostics in areas without access to healthcare. It will be integrated with C2MON - a modular Java framework - in order to store and monitor data from it. It’s currently in its prototype phase.

Who we’re looking for: A full time electrical engineer experienced in hardware and software systems with experience in writing embedded code, to be actively working on building our biomedical product. A fellow creative who finds joy in thinking out of the box to innovate creative engineering solutions.

Someone who is passionate about humanitarianism and wants to be a part of a solution that brings about social impact.

Great team player: Can work with a diverse team of engineers and medical personnel through online communication. They will need to have a good internet connection and be able to work remotely. Living in Tanzania is NOT important.

Responsibilities:

•  Work with a physical systems engineer to create a functional prototype.
•  Share and explain ongoing work with the COO and CTO
• Come up with a reasonable timeline with the rest of the engineering team
• Communicate and discuss ideas, plan of action, timelines, updates and needs effectively with the rest of the engineering team.
• Create and send the COO lists of items needed.
• Use courier services to send and receive completed work/items between other engineers of the team (who live in different countries) when needed.

Requirements:

•  Fluent in English.
• At least one year experience in hardware and software.
• Great communication skills - can keep everyone in the circle up to date with project advancements and able to explain complicated concepts in a comprehensible manner.
•  Has access to good internet and is able to work remotely.

• You have a degree in Electrical Engineering or are studying Electrical Engineering.
