Social Solutions International Inc. is seeking a Collaborating, Learning and Adapting (CLA) Specialist for an anticipated USAID funded project in Tanzania, USAID/Tanzania Heshimu Bahari focusing on marine biodiversity conservation. The project will provide technical, material, and grant management services that support and strengthen capacity for marine biodiversity conservation to i) build the capacity of public sector and civil society; ii) increase private sector engagement in marine conservation and coastal natural resources management; iii) improve the enabling environment for marine protected areas and Fisheries management at all levels; iv) enhance data availability and use in decision making to implement proven marine biodiversity threat reduction approaches in Tanzania.

 

The CLA Specialist will oversee and facilitate CLA and knowledge management activities and ensuring sustainability of results and outcomes at the strategy, project, and activity levels. This full-time position will be based in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania and is contingent on award of funding from USAID.

Responsibilities

  • Support USAID offices and/or missions to implement aspects of the Program Cycle through the development of resources to create, capture, organize, share, and apply knowledge.
  • Assist in building USAID capacity for adaptive management, including developing tools, delivering training, and drafting USAID guidance.
  • Provide direct technical assistance and support to USAID offices and/or missions for Program Cycle processes and functions.
  • Assist PPL in articulating and implementing a change management strategy to institutionalize the Program Cycle throughout USAID.
  • Support PPL and other offices and/or Missions in monitoring, evaluation, and learning efforts.

Qualifications

  • Mid-level professionals should have between five (5) and ten (10) of experience.
  • Senior-level professionals should have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience.
  • All applicants must have a minimum of a master’s degree.
  • All applicants must have experience with USAID or on USAID projects in the past and familiarity with USAID’s program cycle.
  • Must be willing and able to travel.
