JOB SUMMARYOKDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
i. Collaborating with researchers to run experimental farms;
ii. To collect/store test data;
iii. To teach farmers methods of better farming;
iv. Communicating research results to farmers;
v. To teach farmers the best methods of agriculture, the use of fertilizers and medicines, agricultural inputs;
vi. To collect and maintain crop and price statistics for the week, month, quarter and year at the council level;
vii. Collecting rainfall statistics;
viii. Participating in agricultural surveys;
ix. Collaborate with farmer groups about problems and the right technologies to use;
x. Plan production plans;
xi. Measuring seed germination and managing inspection procedures;
xii. To identify input suppliers;
xiii. Providing nutrition training to farmers;
xiv. Conduct quality, humidity and seed germination tests;
xv. To control pests of crops and plants;
xvi. Supervising the daily activities of agricultural experiments;
xvii. To educate farmers on the best use of soil and water;
xviii. Giving advice on agroforestry;
xix. Prepare by-laws for environmental protection and;
xx. To provide a profession for the production of vegetables, fruits, flowers and spices.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
Employing graduates of Form IV or VI with a diploma in agriculture from colleges recognized by the Government.
