We're looking for people who are natural mentors for designers. You'll put their career progression before your own. You'll know that as your team develops, you'll grow with them.Join our distributed team of designers and researchers and help us protect the world's data from attack.You'll have a portfolio or case studies showing the impact of the teams you have led.You should have around 15 years total experience.We expect all our design managers to be individual guide contributors in their own right. You'll lead by example while mentoring your team. We'll expect you to know when to get involved and when to stand back and guide your team.What you'll be doing:Leadership

• Lead and be responsible for the User Experience across the Endpoint and Cloud security product line.
• Handle and scale Elastic's EDR/Cloud product design team and ensure the team consistently delivers on projects.
• Coach designers and help them grow in their careers.
• Work with the team to prioritise work according to the user and business impact.
• Help further the practice and culture of design at Elastic.
• Join the dots across teams.

Design

• Collaborate with Product Managers, Engineers, and User Researchers to frame and define problems.
• Collaborate with Designers and User Researchers as they plan and run research sessions and workshops.
• Contribute to strategic decisions around the future direction of Elastic Security.
• Engage with Engineers early in the design process and see designs through to delivery.
• Design end-to-end flows that empower and guide our users, simplifying their work.
• Produce designs and prototypes to test ideas.
• Make design decisions advised by data.

What you bring:

• Experience leading design teams and handling direct reports.
• Experience designing enterprise SaaS products that meet users' needs and deliver business value.
• Ability to create simple, accessible and usable experiences that meet users' needs and deliver business value.
• Familiarity with Figma and other design tools.
• Experience collaborating and aligning with design leadership across product groups.
• Experience representing work to a broader product team and other leaders, clearly and succinctly articulating the goals and concepts.
• Prior experience designing data-intensive experiences.
• Understanding of motion design principles and motion design for the web.
• Understanding of accessibility.
• Enthusiasm about staying current with the latest design and technology trends across web, desktop, and mobile platforms and adopting modern techniques as appropriate.
• You are an organised self-starter with strong communication skills and previous experience working in a remote environment.

Bonus Points:

• Experience working on large-scale, multi-solution platforms.
• Experience working on IT/cyber security applications.
• Experience working with OKR’s.
• A basic understanding of (HTML/CSS/Javascript) and Git and GitHub.
• A design degree or related subject area or equivalent professional experience.
