If you master the sense of direction, planning, control and reporting for commercial and contractual aspects, sail along with our team. We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor & Commercial Support, with strong organisational and communication skills, with acquired knowledge in commercial management of projects, tendering, preparation of budgets, and commercial reports among other tasks.

Based in Tanzania and reporting to the Commecial Manager, the QS & Commercial Support will be instrumental in driving our strategic growth by meticulously managing project finances and contractual details.

Key responsibilities

Operational

  • Payment Certificates submission to client and subcontractor payment evaluation
  • Contract Administration including notifications and variations (NEC, FIDIC, GCC)
  • Preparation of tender documents, budgeting and technical and commercial proposals.
  • Cost Controls and cost reporting.
  • Attend and coordinate in Commercial Meetings with clients, consultants and subcontractors
  • Coordinate with the procurement team for any variations pricing and advise best commercial strategies
  • Preparation of indicative budget and cash flow
  • Preparation of material take off for tender and variation pricing

Planning

  • Participate in daily coordination with Planning, engineering, site team.
  • Participate in achieving the company annual business plan in coordination with Commercial Manager

People

  • Ensure a culture of integrity and commitment to the client, staff and all stakeholders associated with the Group business.
  • Instil a one family culture and be an ambassador for the business vision, mission and values.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Ensure the delivery of all required reports timely.
  • Ensure the highest level of quality and accuracy in all documents and reports produced and issued.

Budget management

  • Support project management, commercial manager with the budget set-up, cost control and reporting.
  • Support Projects in creating cash flow forecast.
  • Support Projects in estimating the Variations, issuing notifications and claims, payment application management.

HSEQ

  • Align role with HSEQ standards of the company
  • Be a champion of health, safety, environment and quality across the company.

Compliance

  • Company policies and standard operating procedures
  • All relevant laws and regulations

Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

 

Qualifications

  • QS/Engineering Degree (BA/BE)
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Quantity Surveying, commercial management of projects, tendering, preparation of budgets, commercial reports, payment applications, variation/change management, contracts and subcontracts management, work schedule and progress etc
  • 5 Years Experience in the same position
  • Registration with a recognized professional Institution
  • Competent level in Microsoft Office Tools and aptitude for ICT applications.
  • Fluent in writing and spoken English. French is an added advantage.
