About the job

The overall responsibility of the Legal Officer/Legal Counsel at Longping Agriscience Tanzania Limited will be to manage all day-to-day legal matters by ensuring the company’s policies and procedures compliance, drafting, reviewing, and managing day-to-day business contracts for the company.

• Review and draft contract templates for daily business.
• Management of signed contracts.
• Draft corporate documents and handle applications to the company registry.
• Provide timely and proactive legal advice on a range of commercial issues, labour issues, and daily issues.
• Provide legal support on transactions and investments, especially on land acquisition.
• Handle litigation or governmental investigation, when needed. Apply and manage all the company licenses to make sure all updates.
• Work with other functions on compliance and provide legal support on policies and procedures drafts and filing.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor and postgraduate degree in law

2. 3-5 years of legal practice, including both law firm and in-house experience in corporate, labour, real estate, and contracts. Experience in agriculture is a plus.

3. Strong commercial awareness, and understanding of business, corporate governance, and regulatory issues.

4. Fluency in English
