Dear all,Airswift is currently looking for a Lead Environmental Advisor for one of our largest projects in Dar El Salaam on a rotation schedule. We are looking for candidates with the drive and commitment to make a genuine difference to our performance to ensure that company continues to differentiate itself from competitors by delivering quality service to our client’s requirements.Job ResponsibilitiesThe Environmental Lead will report to the Environmental Methods Lead and will have the following responsibilities:Monitors and inspects contractors’ day to day construction activities to ensure all are performed in accordance with all project applicable permit conditions, environmental management condition and mitigation requirements.Monitors all project related facilities, camps, waste management areas etcLiaises daily with EPC Contractor’s to provide guidance, as required, with regard to the development of the specific management plansLiaises daily with EPC Contractor’s site personnel.Effectively provides guidance, as required, regarding compliance requirements and corrective actions.Liaises with the contractors’ environmental team to ensure on-going project complianceEnsures all required samplings/testing are done as requiredIssues non-compliance for the breaches in permit/mitigation requirements.Assists in the review and close out of rectifications arising from daily inspections, audits, or compliance review process.Provides and maintains daily inspection reports with photos.Liaises with immediate supervisor, highlighting areas of concern, NCRs, incidents, etc.Job QualificationsEnvironmental experience in supervision of industrial facilities.BSc or MSc is environmental scienceExperience with the environmental management in accordance with IFC PSExcellent English communication skills (oral and written)Ability to understand and explain all project environmental requirementsPhysical ability to work in the field and conduct inspection in difficult terrainEffective communication and interaction with construction crews in the field and management teams.Concise report writing on a daily basis.
