Eligibility
Are you a Tanzanian journalist with a passion for writing development news working for print, television, radio or new media? If yes, MISA-Tanzania would like to hear from you. The MISA-Tanzania Fellowship for Development Journalism is open to anyone with at least five years professional experience in journalism. Freelance journalists, as well as reporters and editors currently working at a news organization in Tanzania, may apply. The MISA-Tanzania Development Journalism Fellowship will provide editorial and financial support up to 10 competitively selected professional journalists who need the time and resources to produce stories on development projects in Tanzania, particularly public infrastructure, such as roads, electricity and their impact on livelihoods and the economy at large The programme will equip a cohort of selected journalists with better reporting skills, so that people living in urban and rural Tanzania are aware of various development projects
Selected Fellows Will:
• Take part in a training workshop and work under mentors
• Be offered the opportunity to travel and report development news in various parts of Tanzania
• Receive guidance from mentors for the duration of the fellowship
• Publish at least 3 well-researched stories each on development journalism at the end of the fellowship
