  • Guest Service:
  • Provide exceptional and personalized service to lodge guests during meals and other dining experiences.
  • Ensure a seamless and enjoyable dining experience by anticipating guest needs and preferences.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the menu, including ingredients, preparation methods, and special dietary considerations.
  • Table Management:
  • Oversee the setup and arrangement of dining tables, ensuring they are aesthetically pleasing and in accordance with lodge standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen and other staff to ensure timely and efficient meal service.
  • Manage reservations, seating arrangements, and special requests.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to relay guest preferences and special requests.
  • Training and Supervision:
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior waitstaff, ensuring they adhere to service standards.
  • Supervise and delegate tasks to other waitstaff during shifts.
  • Quality Control:
  • Monitor the quality of food presentation and ensure it meets the lodge's high standards.
  • Address guest concerns or issues promptly and professionally, seeking solutions to enhance guest satisfaction.
  • Wine and Beverage Service:
    • Provide knowledgeable and attentive wine and beverage service, including pairing recommendations.
    • Maintain an organized and well-stocked wine cellar and bar.
      • Hygiene and Cleanliness:
        • Uphold strict hygiene and cleanliness standards in the dining area.
        • Ensure the proper storage and handling of tableware and dining utensils.
          • Guest Interaction:
            • Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, creating a positive and memorable dining experience.
            • Obtain feedback from guests and use it to continually enhance service quality.

Experience

        • Proven experience as a Senior Waiter in a luxury hospitality setting, preferably in a safari lodge or similar environment.
        • Strong knowledge of fine dining etiquette, wine service, and menu details.
        • Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a team of waitstaff.
        • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
        • Experience with reservation management systems.

Qualifications

    • Diploma or certification in Hospitality Management or a related field.
    • Extensive experience in a high-end dining establishment.
    • Training in food safety and hygiene.
    • Wine service certification is a plus.
    • Proficient in English; additional languages relevant to the region are advantageous.
