Nature and Scope
The role holder will play a vital role in advancing the mission of Sanku-PHC. S/he will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with donors and stakeholders, ensuring their continued engagement and support for our organization. The ideal candidate is a skilled manager, communicator, and leader who is passionate about our mission and will represent Sanku-PHC to internal and external stakeholders with professionalism and integrity.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive donor relations strategy to maximize donor engagement, retention, and satisfaction.
- Cultivate relationships with individual donors, foundations, corporations, and other funding sources, establishing strong connections and effectively communicating the impact of our programs.
- Collaborate with the Development team to identify and prioritize fundraising opportunities aligned with our organization's goals.
- Create and execute personalized stewardship plans for major donors, ensuring regular and meaningful touchpoints to express gratitude, provide updates, and share stories of impact.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for donor inquiries, requests, and concerns, addressing them in a timely and professional manner.
- Manage donor recognition programs, including acknowledgment letters, customized reports, and donor appreciation events.
- Oversee the management of funds, supporting the Senior Manager, Development as necessary and ensuring production of effective, high quality proposals and reports.
- Collaborate with the communications team to develop compelling donor-centric materials, including impact reports, newsletters, and acknowledgment letters.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in donor relations and incorporate them into our strategies and initiatives.
- Utilize donor management software and systems to track and analyze donor data, identify giving patterns, and measure the effectiveness of donor relations efforts.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment between donor relations activities and the overall development strategy.
Competencies Requirements
- Proven experience in donor relations or fundraising, with a focus on relationship-building and stewardship.
- Strong knowledge of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices in the nonprofit sector.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate our organization's mission, values, and impact to a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Able to collaborate equally well with our executives, board directors, and support staff
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment.
- Expertise in donor stewardship and communication will be crucial in driving donor satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills to identify opportunities, assess donor behavior, and measure the success of donor relations initiatives.
- Proficient in using donor management software and CRM systems.
- Strong commitment to our organization's mission and values.
Work Experience and Educational Qualifications
- 5 years of Donor Relations experience, ideally managing projects funded by British and American-based organizations or other institutional donors.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (such as Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or Communications). A relevant master’s degree is preferred.
- PMP or Prince 2 certification would be an advantage
