About The Role:
As Time Doctor continues to grow, we’re looking for an innovative and entrepreneurial product manager to take our product in new directions.
This is a newly-created role and a unique opportunity to be involved with a SaaS product that is facilitating the world’s transition to effective remote work. To expand Time Doctor’s reach beyond its current market, you’ll identify new target markets, develop strategies to meet their needs, and work with the necessary departments to implement solutions, and manage and monitor progress. You'll be working with a talented development team on a product that has traction with significant growth opportunities.
Since your primary goal will be expanding our product’s value to reach new markets, you’ll have the freedom to be creative and chart your own course without the constraint of meeting the demands of existing customers. You’ll be expected to create hypotheses, and devise creative ways to move quickly through “build-measure-learn” cycles (Lean Startup methodology). The ideal candidate would be driven, innovative, adaptable, and not deterred by failure.
Although you’ll initially be building and experimenting within our existing product, what you build may eventually become a stand-alone product. Experience as an entrepreneur attempting to bring innovative products to market is an asset, regardless of whether you’ve succeeded.
Your Responsibilities:
- Identify the unmet needs of prospective customers in new markets that Time Doctor doesn’t currently serve, and create and manage both a strategy and a product roadmap to address those needs.
- Innovate. Creatively build on Time Doctor’s existing infrastructure and leverage our extensive database of work activity to take the product in new directions.
- Identify and efficiently test assumptions, validate solutions, and iterate.
- Influence your team and stakeholders throughout the company to
- Support your strategy and tactics
- Carry out tasks as needed to support your initiatives
- Quickly move on from feature ideas or prototypes that have been demonstrated to lack potential. Be attached to business outcomes; not to individual features.
- Manage & prioritize a product roadmap.
- Write feature specifications.
- Communicate directly with customers and prospective customers to understand their needs and receive input on proposed solutions.
- Work closely with the development team to ensure that the highest priority tasks are worked on and to remove roadblocks.
- Determine feasibility and impact of potential features.
- Provide internal and customer training on how to use features.
- Facilitate the creation and maintenance of product documentation.
- Collaborate with existing product teams and other stakeholders to incorporate new validated features into Time Doctor.
Required Skills & Experience:
Minimum Qualifications:
- B2B SaaS product management experience.
- Clear, concise, flawless written communication.
- Excellent presentation, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills.
- Natural talent for usability.
- Ability to distill complex requirements into simple solutions.
- Ability to balance visionary thinking with critical thinking to identify viable opportunities.
- Highly proactive; You’ll be expected to identify work that needs to be done, and take action to make it happen.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Entrepreneurial experience.
- Experience working with and prioritizing requirements across global teams.
- Experience with Lean Startup methodology or similar.
- Experience working with large enterprise customers & prospects.
This is a full-time role for a product manager and it’s a completely virtual/telecommute position that will allow you to work from home.
