Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Infrastructure Manager to join our dynamic team at NexGen Cloud. The Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing and maintaining our critical infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and overseeing a team of talented engineers. This role is instrumental in guiding the design, implementation, and support of our state-of-the-art cloud infrastructure while fostering a collaborative environment and championing continuous improvement.

This role is a leadership role reporting to the CTO, working alongside the Software Development manager, Scrum master and Product development manager(SaaS) the Infrastructure Manager you will have the ability to influence change and implement policy and procedure to meet the uptime and performance targets of the organisation.

An essential requirement for this position is that you have experience managing physical server and network infrastructure and you understand how datacentres, networks and servers operate at the physical layer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of infrastructure engineers, providing technical direction, performance management, and professional development.
• Manage the hardware operations of our server fleet across our globally distributed datacentre locations.
• Develop and implement strategies for infrastructure optimization, capacity planning, and performance monitoring to ensure high availability, scalability, and security of our cloud services.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, design, and execute infrastructure projects and initiatives, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to best practices.
• Oversee incident management, ensuring rapid resolution and root cause analysis of infrastructure-related issues.
• Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve and evolve NexGen Cloud's infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain documentation, standard operating procedures, and architectural diagrams to support infrastructure operations and projects.
• Ensure strict compliance with security policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the Infrastructure team and across the organization.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in infrastructure management, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Strong experience with virtualization technologies, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure automation (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Familiarity with networking protocols, security principles, and best practices.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven track record of managing teams, driving projects to completion, and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
