Position: HSE Officer

Location: Dar es Salaam

Experience: +2 years of experience

Main responsibilities: To assist HSSEQ Manager in: -

• Ensure full compliance with client company HSSEQ requirements, ISO-integrated management systems, and all applicable Tanzanian and international legal requirements.
• Maintain a "live" HSSEQ Management System for continuous improvement.
• Provide HSSEQ support to the team, including contractors and customers, in implementing HSSEQ standards and promoting a safety culture.
• Implement HSSEQ plans and key performance indicators, monitor performance, and report accurately to line managers.
• Integrate the ISO management system for business continuity.
• Conduct HSSEQ training programs for staff and contractors, including induction training and operational process training.
• Follow up on incident and accident investigations, ensure gaps are closed, and communicate learnings to stakeholders.
• Conduct regular site safety inspections and participate in HSSEQ audits.
• Effectively communicate HSSEQ messages through Toolbox talks and participate in HSEQ meetings.
• Ensure the robustness of emergency response plans (ERP) and medical ERPs through drills and follow-up.

Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
• Proven experience as an HSE Officer or similar role
• Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
• Certification in HSE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is mandatory.
