JOB DETAILS:
Job Summary
The Head of Security plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the sisal farm and its livestock activities by implementing comprehensive security measures. Responsible for developing, managing, and overseeing security protocols, this role ensures the protection of assets, boundaries, personnel, and livestock while adhering to local laws and regulations. You will act on a 24-hour call basis where you attend to all emergencies, ensure day and night patrols are conducted and monitor CCTV surveillance systems. You work in collaboration with HR & LEGAL Department in disciplinary processes. You report directly to management
Duties and Responsibilities
Physical security management:
1. Develop and implement security protocols and procedures for safeguarding agricultural and livestock assets, especially against potential encroachment by Maasai cattle/goats etc.
2. Monitor and oversee access control systems, including gates, fences, and entry points.
3. Conduct regular patrols to ensure the security of premises and livestock areas.
4. Collaborate with relevant departments to assess security risks and implement appropriate measures.
Surveillance and monitoring:
5. Install and manage surveillance systems for monitoring key areas, such as barns, fields, and storage areas.
6. Review CCTV footage and other monitoring systems to identify potential security breaches or threats.
7. Respond promptly to alarms or incidents and take necessary action as per established protocols.
Security team supervision:
8. Recruit, train, and supervise security personnel responsible for on-site security operations.
9. Conduct performance evaluations and guide security staff for efficient functioning.
10. Coordinate schedules and assignments to ensure adequate coverage at all times.
Risk assessment and mitigation:
11. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate security threats.
12. Collaborate with management to implement measures to address identified risks and vulnerabilities.
13. Keep updated with industry best practices and recommend improvements to existing security measures.
Emergency Response and Crisis Management:
14. Develop and implement emergency response plans for natural disasters, theft, or other security-related incidents.
15. Coordinate with local authorities and emergency services to ensure a rapid and effective response in case of emergencies.
16. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response procedures.
Documentation and reporting:
17. Maintain accurate records of security incidents, investigations, and actions taken.
18. Prepare regular reports on security-related activities, including incident summaries and security system status updates.
19. Communicate security-related information to relevant stakeholders and management as necessary.
Compliance and regulatory adherence:
20. Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security and safety.
21. Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to address any security-related compliance issues promptly.
Stakeholder communication:
22. Liaise with other departments and stakeholders to address security concerns and implement cohesive security strategies.
23. Foster a culture of security awareness among employees by conducting training sessions and disseminating relevant information.
Job Qualification and Experience
• Proven work experience in a similar role or higher of at least 2 years.
• Form 6 certificate holder and a diploma in Security management.
• Proven experience in relevant security technology and equipment (Incl CCTV).
• Working experience in agricultural/ livestock keeping and proof of security training/ courses will add an advantage.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to plan, multitask and manage time effectively.
• Sense of ownership and pride in personal performance and its impact on the company’s.
• Age Limit (Between 23-40 years).
