Contact And Cooperation

Internally: The Financial Controller will work hand in hand with Finance Director, Stores, Procurement units, HRs, and all other departmental heads.

Externally: Suppliers, Clients, Tanzania Revenue Authority, PwC Auditors, Legal Advisors, WCF, Pension Funds, Government officials.

Job Summary

Experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget, and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Collecting, interpreting, and reviewing financial information.
  • Predicting future financial trends.
  • Reporting to management and stakeholders and providing advice how the company and future business decisions might be impacted.
  • Producing financial reports related to budgets, account payables, account receivables, expenses etc.
  • Developing long-term business plans based on these reports.
  • Reviewing, monitoring, and managing budgets.
  • Developing strategies that work to minimise financial risk.
  • Analysing market trends and competitors.

Accountability

The Financial Controller is accountable to the Finance Director for the responsibilities stated in this job description. These responsibilities will be monitored and managed through regular performance reviews and supported through the monitoring of KPIs as guided by Company HR Policies.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance/Accountancy.
  • Minimum of five (5) working years in a busy and sizable organization.
  • ACCA/CPA is a must
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user, leadership, and administration skills
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
