The Cilium team is a distributed group of subject matter experts in Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies, networking, eBPF and Linux Kernel development.
About this role:
As an integral member of the Cilium team, you will be at the forefront of innovation, contributing to the development of high-performance eBPF code for our open source projects—Cilium, Hubble, and Tetragon. Your expertise in eBPF, Linux Kernel development, and cloud-native technologies will be instrumental in driving innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions to our global community of users.
A typical day:
- Developing high-quality eBPF code for the Cilium, Hubble & Tetragon open source projects while following open source development principles and best practices.
- Linux Kernel upstream development
- Active participation in the open-source community
- Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired)
Required profile for job ad : EBPF/Kernel EngineerRequirements
- Your Expertise:
- Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience.
- Multiple years of experience with C and eBPF knowledge. GO knowledge is a plus.
- Strong knowledge about Linux systems design and either security or networking.
- Desire to write high quality and efficient code.
- A public track record of open source code commits is a plus.
- Experience in public speaking at technical open source conferences is a plus.
