The Community you will join:

The Cilium team is a distributed group of subject matter experts in Kubernetes, Cloud Native technologies, networking, eBPF and Linux Kernel development.

About this role:

We are looking for an expert to focus on transparent network-level encryption, most notably IPSec but also Wireguard. You’ll be working on all aspects of in-Kubernetes cluster secure network communications and operations using Cilium, from XFRM configuration to eBPF programming, in addition to Go programming.

A typical day:

• Developing high-quality Go and eBPF code for the Cilium open source projects while following open source development principles and best practices.
• Linux Kernel upstream development
• Active participation in the open-source community
• Possibility to speak at public conferences about achievements (if desired)

• Your Expertise:
• Computer Science degree, or equivalent experience.
• Multiple years of experience with IPSec and Go. C and eBPF knowledge is a plus.
• Strong knowledge about Linux systems design and security.
• Desire to write high quality and efficient code.
• A public track record of open source code commits is a plus.
• Experience in public speaking at technical open source conferences is a plus.
