About the job

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Country Manager to oversee and be responsible for driving business growth, developing and executing strategies, managing day-to-day operations, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

The Country Manager shall be the key representative of the company in the Tanzania market and shall be responsible for developing, driving, coordinating, executing, and following up on growth plans and strategy for the market.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business plan to grow the company's presence in Tanzania.
  • P&L ownership and responsibility for the market to ensure delivery of results in accordance with the set budget and targets.
  • Conduct product-focused research in sports betting to assist in high level decision making.
  • Carry out analysis of market segmentation.
  • Source sportsbook solutions that match client preferences in the market.
  • Develop conceptualisation of online and retail sportsbook products and solutions.
  • Ensure that the company complies with all local regulations and laws related to the iGaming industry in Tanzania.
  • Monitor and analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and implement marketing campaigns to increase brand awareness and drive customer acquisition and retention.
  • Manage a team of professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and guidance to ensure high levels of performance and productivity.

Requirements:

  • 5 plus years operations management experience in a sportsbook environment including online marketing experience.
  • Experience in gaming/betting or related industry.
  • Must have online gaming experience with a minimum of two years of mobile (mobile money integration, network knowledge, USSD and Web).
  • Sportsbook experience in the African market.
  • Experience in managing Customers, Partnerships and Service Level Agreements.
  • Understanding of the sportsbook retail environment.
  • Genuine passion and interest in sports betting, marketing and extensive knowledge of sportsbook products and commitment towards success of the sportsbook operations within a responsible gambling environment.
  • An appreciation of working knowledge of industry regulations and legislative guidelines.
  • Proven success managing a P&L and experience in budget forecasting and implementation.
  • Stakeholder management skills and experience working as a stakeholder, specifying requirements across the company in a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven way.
  • Customer-focused, passionate, hands-on, and excellent executor, with a strong business and growth mindset.
