Objectives of the Consultancy

To carry out the necessary on-site coordination for the development of the strategy in the country/region. Identify opportunities based on the organization's impact pillars. Manage the operational implementation of the strategy. Document activities in the CRM system.

Consultancy Functions

Support for the coordination of regional strategy

  • Carry out the necessary coordination for the implementation of the strategy, providing proposals and/or suggestions, based on local social capital, alignment with our Five-Year Strategic Plan, and Framework.
  • Contribute to the programmatic strategies of Avina's impact pillars and programs from an African perspective.

Management of social capital

  • Ensure the registration of Avina's social capital in the CRM system.
  • Identify key social capital for the implementation of Avina's agendas on the continent.
  • Support in managing relations with social capital in African countries where Avina operates, in coordination with the local team and global programmatic team and service areas.
  • Maintain quality connections with existing social capital, contributing to Avina's positioning in the countries where Avina operates.

Support for the development of alliances and implementation of Avina Foundation's agendas in the region

  • Participate in the design of projects and collaborative processes with execution in African countries.
  • Support in the implementation of projects and conducting activities on the African continent, including organizing meetings, supporting communications, managing social investments in the CRM, and systematizing information.
  • Promote the articulation of thematic areas with local and regional presence.
  • Support in the articulation with social capital and the selection of partners for project execution on the continent.
  • Map local opportunities and propose links with Avina Foundation's agendas, allies, and co-investors.

General collaboration with the operation of Avina Foundation

  • Participate in institutional meetings.
  • Coordinate with different areas of the organization.
  • Collaborate in the implementation of the Five-Year Strategic Plan.
  • Other related activities.

Profile of the Person to be Hired The applicant for this position should have:

  • Degree in Social Sciences or related fields.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in multi-stakeholder coordination agendas, international cooperation, intersectoral coordination, and public-private linkage.
  • Knowledge and/or experience in topics related to sustainable development.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish. French and/or Portuguese desirable.

Contracting Conditions

  • Requires availability for occasional international travel.
  • Fee range: USD 3500 - USD 4000.
  • The consultancy is in a home-office mode but preferably based in one of the following countries: Kenya, South Africa, Ethiopia, DRC, Ghana, Zambia, Uganda, or Mozambique.
  • This consultancy coordinates actions with the organization's Directors and Managers.
