We are seeking a skilled Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This role is pivotal in managing vendor relationships, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and maintaining robust internal controls in line with company policies and financial standards.

Candidate Profile

To excel in this role, candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Holder of a CPA(T) or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar accounts payable or finance role.
• Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems.
• Strong understanding of tax laws and accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable Accountant will:

• Create and maintain accurate supplier sub-accounts in the accounting system.
• Ensure all supplier invoices are properly matched against supporting documents and accurately recorded in the ledger.
• Accurately recognize periodic costs and make applicable accruals.
• Regularly reconcile accounts payable-related balance sheet accounts and resolve variances promptly.
• Conduct reviews of vendor ageing reports and recommend actions for long-outstanding balances.
