Iam a Civil Engineering Professional Technologist with 32 years of experience.

I have worked on several road and bridge construction projects throughout all these of years’ experience.

My areas of expertise are on prefeasibility studies, site investigations, laboratory testing, earthworks, pavement construction, drainage, construction supervision and control, concrete, bitumen/asphalt works with particular responsibilities on:

• Overseeing day-to-day construction activities from Quality Assurance and Control standpoint.
• Writing and editing of the Quality Assurance and Control Plan and ultimately implementation of all aspects of same.
• Verification of conformance with the criteria, and instructions provided in detailed description of the works, project technical requirements/ specifications and drawings.
• Coordinating prospecting of borrow areas for aggregate quarries and gravels.
• Formulating design mixes for concrete and asphalt.
• Coordinating all materials laboratory testing on soils, aggregate, concrete and asphalt samples.
• Maintenance of laboratory equipment and replacement of equipment
• Analysis of test reports and reporting
• Advise on all materials quality control issues, nonconformities and remedial actions.
• Inputs for monthly progress report

I have worked in a government institution (Roads Department) for 12 years from cadetship to Senior Materials Engineer. I then moved on to work in the private sector where I have worked for more than 20 years. On a couple of projects, I have acted as Assistant Resident Engineer assisting the Resident Engineer in contract management involving design reviews, site supervision, measurement of quantities, Preparation and evaluation of Interim Payment Certificates, variation orders. projects reports and as-built data reports.

I have worked in the following capacities Materials Technologist/Engineer, Senior/ Provincial Materials Engineer, Inspector of Works, Assistant Resident Engineer and Site Agent.

I have worked in the following countries Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola, Mauritania, Uganda, Zambia and Guinea.

Iam comfortable in English and Portuguese languages, with a limited working knowledge of French language.

In IT Iam conversant with the following computer packages, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Ms Project Management AutoCAD.

I hold professional body registration in the following entities:

Iam currently engaged as a Materials Engineer on the rehabilitation of Tica-Buzi- Nova Sofala road project in Sofala province, Mozambique.
