Hekima is a small organization in Tanzania that promotes children rights, and young youth through nurturing that enables children, families and communities in ending Violence Against Children (VAC). Hekima achieves this through community accountable where children and young youth demand their rights; strengthening child protection and participation systems and structures.

It has been concentrating on two main activities in the years. One is the "Smile Education project" and the "Zero to hero project". The main target group of the Smile Education Program are young girls at risk of child marriage and early pregnancies while the Zero to Hero project reaches mainly boys living on the street. The project aims to empower young people through different life orientated sessions and informative lessons as well as to equip young youth living on the streets with the skill set to improve their living standards through access to medical service, education, not only empowering them with entrepreneurship or business skills but also apprenticeship for further learning.

HOW CAN I HELP?

WEB DESIGN

• Help improve our website - modifying the design to create a new look, integrating our social media platforms onto the website and also advising about daily management. You will also help us set up a system to improve the organization's internal communication among staff, such as creating a staff email account.

• Volunteer 4 hours per week remotely
