Description

SAVE THE CHILDREN INTERNACIONAL (SCI), a non-profit humanitarian organization with its focus on child welfare, is recruiting candidates for the positions mentioned below:

 

(1) Water, Sanitation and Construction Coordinator - CBD VG014 / 2020 Pemba (1)

 

 Qualifications / Experience and Skills

 
  • Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering / Water and Sanitation Engineering or related area;
 
Essential
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with NGOs in water management, sanitation and / or construction of public infrastructure (management of water and sanitation committees and supervision of well construction and rehabilitation);
  • Understanding and commitment to child protection and the rights of the child;
  • Work experience in preferable emergency programs in the water and sanitation sector or shelter and construction;
  • Extensive experience in training and capacity building at the community level in water management committees;
  • Experience in Budget Control and project development with a primary focus on WASH and construction;
  • Good human resources management skills;
  • Experience working with local partners, government and community based organization.

  • Excellent skills in planning, implementing and monitoring different activities;
  • Ability to work in a team / high level of motivation, responsibility and dedication to tasks / ability to communicate with others and motivate / desire new ideas;
  • Be humble with the community, colleagues and others who will contact Save the Children;
  • Be ethical in your work. Be dynamic, innovative and creative;
  • Be focused and results-oriented;
  • Ability to work under pressure and availability to work outside normal hours when necessary;
  • Strong written and oral communication skills in Portuguese and English are encouraged;
  • Have computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, email, CAD, GIS, Internet and other software).
