 Title: Warehouse Coordinator, Lake Zone

Reporting to:
 Distribution and Warehouse Manager
Location:
 Mwanza

Job Purpose
• The role holder is responsible for managing and overseeing the receiving, put-away, picking, and packing activities within the assigned warehouse, ensuring quality standards are met at every turn. S/he is expected to be exceptionally detail-oriented, and able to track multiple facets of the warehouse at any given time.

Main Responsibilities
• Strategically manage warehouse in compliance with Sanku-PHC’s policies
• Understanding and taking corrective measures to ensure shrinkage in the warehouse are kept at minimum levels.
• Ensuring there is always optimum inventory stock to meet demand by flagging potential stock-outs and working with the Warehouse Manager to ensure the warehouse location is replenished timely.
• Reviewing and assigning tasks (receiving, put-away, picking, and packaging), and constantly coordinating warehouse officers to ensure that assigned tasks are done to the highest quality, and according to processes.
• Manage the receiving of items and inventory in the assigned warehouse, ensuring proper documentation, system-level entries, and physical item match, and supervise the physical movement of items into the warehouse.
• Manage the inventory put-away process implementation in the assigned warehouse, which includes but is not limited to ensuring proper and timely inventory labeling, physical placement of inventory in the warehouse, and completion of system-level entries.
• Manage the order fulfillment process implementation in the assigned warehouse, which includes but is not limited to ensuring timely attention to approved sales orders, accurate picking of the inventory, quality packaging of orders, and completion of system-level entries.
• Managing packaging material inventory by ensuring it is always in a clean space, and always available to meet demand.
• Ensuring tools and equipment for efficient warehouse operations are always well maintained and stored securely to ensure maximum efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Lead, and manage a team of warehouse support officers on a day-to-day basis, to ensure the team is well organized, has the capability and motivation to get the job done. This includes but is not limited to conducting in-person check-ins, performance discussions, training, coaching sessions, conflict resolution, disciplining employees, and collaborative problem-solving.
• Set performance goals for the team of warehouse support officers, and monitor for progress, and adjust the work plan to ensure goals are always met.
• Maintains the physical condition of the warehouse by planning and implementing proper arrangements of bags, ensuring cleanliness is maintained at all times, and any broken items/tools or parts of the building are reported and repaired timely.
• Collaborating harmoniously with cross-functional teams in areas of intersection mainly production, delivery, and sales team to ensure that Sanku’s mission is always upheld.
• Periodically report on warehouse activities as required.
• Support cycle count activities in the assigned warehouse.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the line manager from time to time.

Competencies Requirement
• Knowledge of warehouse management procedures and best practices
• Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
• Hands-on experience with warehouse management software and databases
• Leadership skills and ability to manage staff
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Basic understanding of/or ability to quickly learn Sanku PHC’s product codes and terminology.
• Good understanding of warehouse policies and procedures.
• Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
• Good oral and written communication skills in English and Swahili.

Qualifications and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain or any other related field
• 2+ years of warehouse management experience preferred.
• 1+ years’ experience in a warehouse lead role managing hourly employees.
• Experience of working in a team and dealing with people in a warehouse setting.
