JOB TITLE: UNDERWRITING OFFICER

REPORTS TO:  COUNTRY MANAGER

JOB DESCRIPTION

•             Review insurance applications for compliance and adherence so that the company can collect premiums from Insurers.

•            Assess clients’ background information and financial status for risk analysis when wanting to engage a client in any insurance inquiry.

• ·         Liaise with specialists to gather information and opinions from various insurers and insurance stakeholders in the industry.

• ·         Weight loss exposures and determine underwriting alternatives from clients/ customers.

• ·         Analyse high risk incoming insurance applications submitted in the company.

• ·         Draw up a quote for competitive insurance premiums from various insurers in the market as far as the insurance industry is concerned.

• ·         Negotiate and define the specific terms of insurance policies with insurers or policy holders.

• ·         Being able to prepare different insurance proposals on behalf of the company at any point in time needed and the urgency.

• ·         To maintain the company client database created and maintaining the same ensuring the growth of the same without fail.

• ·         To analyze the statistical data by using the smart policy portal installed in the company for proper record keeping and trend determination of the company.

• ·         Keep detailed records of policies underwritten and decisions made

• ·         Balance between mass and homogeneity of risks to achieve predictability of future results

• ·         Develop and maintain a profitable book of business for brokerage firm.

• ·         Follow applicable insurance laws and regulations at all times when discharge duties as an underwriter.
