Project Background

DRST is implementing the Empowering Youth with Disabilities and Refugee Youth for Inclusive, Sustainable, and Dignified Jobs in Tanzania’s Agri-Food Sector project under AGRA’s Youth Entrepreneurship for the Future of Food and Agriculture (YEFFA) program. The initiative aims to integrate youth with disabilities and refugee youth into horticulture and sunflower value chains to foster inclusive growth and sustainable development.

• • Context: Tanzania’s agriculture sector offers significant economic potential, but youth with disabilities and refugees face barriers such as legal constraints, limited resources, and inadequate vocational skills. With youth unemployment at 10% (ages 15–24) and 8% (ages 25–29), particularly in rural areas, inclusive employment solutions are critical.
  • Objective: Address economic marginalization by facilitating access to sustainable jobs in the agri-food sector.

Tender Invitation

DRST invites tenders from reputable and qualified suppliers for the supply of high-quality agro-processing units for sunflower processing to support youth and youth with disabilities in Singida – Iramba District Council (DC) under the YEFFA project.

• Purpose: To procure agro-processing units that meet specified technical and quality standards.
• Location: Suppliers must be from Iramba DC, and all units and accessories must be delivered to Iramba DC offices.

List of Agro-Processing Units Required

The following sunflower agro-processing units and components are required:

• S/N 1: Package, Quantity: 1
• S/N 2: Machine Number 95, Quantity: 1
• S/N 3: Motor 20 HP, Quantity: 1
• S/N 4: Oil Filter, Quantity: 1
• S/N 5: Sieve, Quantity: 1
• S/N 6: Electricity Cost, Quantity: 1
• S/N 7: Tank One, Quantity: 1
• S/N 8: Tank Two, Quantity: 1
• S/N 9: Plumbing System, Quantity: 1
• S/N 10: Machine Chassis/Frame, Quantity: 1
• Installation Cost: Quantity: 1

Tender Submission Requirements

Suppliers must provide the following documents:

• Technical Proposal: Detailed description of the agro-processing units, including technical specifications and compliance with relevant standards.
