JOB DETAILS:
BESIX Ballast Nedam (BBN) Limited, the CONTRACTOR for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Jetty and Load out Facilities in the Tanga Bay for the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) Project, invites job application for Steelfixer Foreman.

Purpose and scope of assignment
Steelfixer Foreman is responsible for supervising and coordinating steel works at construction sites and also a point of reference to both steel work team and engineers or other superiors regarding steel works operations.

Job responsibilities
• Create schedules for steel crew members and ensure that they are properly followed.
• Read and interpreting technical specifications and blueprints.
• Assist steel fixers in understanding engineering plans and work accordingly.
• Lead and control steel fixers team to engage in civil works activities.
• Optimize resources such as manpower and equipment.
• Prevent wastage and misuse of equipment and resources.
• Ensure that the steel fixers team follows all required procedures.
• Work hand in hand with other construction teams to coordinate and perform steel works activities.
• Inspect and verify all steel works conducted by the steel team.

Job qualification, experience and skills.
Applicant should possess the following.
• Civil Diploma, VETA or other equivalent qualification.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in steel works supervisory.
• Strong technical and mechanical skills.
• Must have ability to interpret and implement complex structural drawings.
• Experience working with reputable construction companies on similar roles is an added advantage.
• Good time management and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
