Mō te tūnga | About the role

The IDEA Services Kapiti Coast branch are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Service Manager - Workforce to manage and support a team of Support Workers who have a strong focus on the people we support in our community who are living with an intellectual disability.

PLEASE NOTE: this role will require car travel across the Horowhenua, Levin and Kapiti region on a regular basis. The actual IDEA office you will be mainly working from is located in the Paraparaumu area.

Within This Role, You Will Be Responsible For

  • the successful delivery of schedules/rosters for our team of Support Workers
  • approving annual leave and monitoring overtime
  • recruiting Support Workers to work across the branches' local residences
  • managing a small team reporting directly to you.

Due to the nature of the services we provide, it is essential to be available between Monday to Friday 6:30am-7:30pm & Weekends 6:30am-2:30pm, as well as on-call requirements on a rotational basis.

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu | What you will bring

  • Previous people management experience
  • Previous experience in rostering and scheduling would be a huge advantage, but is not essential
  • The resilience to be able to work positively within an ever-changing environment
  • A strong planning and forward-thinking approach
  • A genuine interest to be involved within the disability sector (previous experience is desirable, but not essential).
  • Excellent computer skills, and the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • A full NZ driver's licence is a 'must have'.
