We are looking for an experienced Global Benefits Partner to join our Total Rewards team. The ideal candidate will have a successful record of scaling benefit programs in a high growth environment and on a global scale. The successful candidate would have prior experience administering leave policies globally. This role would report to the Director of Total Rewards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Administer various team member benefits programs, such as private medical, dental and vision, pension and life insurance, as well as benefits and perks.
- Manage global leave administration process and compliance, specifically around parental and sick leaves of absence.
- Ensures compliance with government requirements by studying existing laws and regulations and updates to legal requirements.
- Manage the leave administration process from the team member's initial notice of the need for leave to the team member’s return to work. Gather and ensure completion of required paperwork, including medical certifications, determine leave eligibility, designate or deny leaves as appropriate, recertify leaves, and track and account for leave time used.
- Provide appropriate and required leave information to team members, verbally and in writing. Advise team members on the interaction of leave laws with paid time off, worker’s compensation, and short-term and long-term disability benefits.
- Maintain complete and accurate records of leaves and related information. Preserve confidentiality of team members medical documentation and files.
- Manage workflow to ensure all leave transactions are processed accurately and timely, including reporting hours each pay period, tracking leave time, and notifying team members of expirations and need for recertification.
- Ensure HRIS and other system data is current; partner with HRIS and Payroll teams to create reports and update leave types and related information.
- Maintain reasonable communication with team members on leave to facilitate smooth and timely return to work; keep managers up-to-date about team member leaves, changes, and work restrictions.
- Evaluate, ensure compliance with, and provide consultation on country specific compliance on leave-related issues. Escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Coordinate with HR Business Partners regarding intermittent and reduced-schedule leave usage, opportunities for country specific accommodations, medical second opinions, and communications with team members and managers.
- Keep abreast of applicable country specific laws and paid sick leave.
- Draft and/or recommend revisions to company leave policies and documents to ensure compliance with country specific laws and regulations.
- Recommends benefits programs to management by studying team member requirements, trends, and developments in benefits offered by other organizations, to include our customers.
- Conveys benefit related data to internal team members by coaching, counseling, and mentoring team members.
- Resolves team member questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies and procedures.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing results as directed.
- Work with our global team of internal stakeholders, brokers, platforms, carriers, etc. to ensure our programs are operating efficiently.
- Five to ten years of progressive professional experience in the management of a global team member benefits programs.
- Experience with developing and implementing benefit programs, preferably in a large and complex organization.
- Experience with statutory requirements for employee benefit plans and programs in the United States, United Kingdom, Israel, Germany, Canada, France, Spain, Australia, and/or the Netherlands.
- Experience with government mandated employee leave laws involving employee benefits (such as SSP, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, State Parental Leave & Disability, etc.).
- Working knowledge of human resources management principles and practices in all human resources programs preferred.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in human resources, business or public administration, or a related field.
