Overview
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team of sales professionals to drive revenue growth and achieve sales targets within the insurance sector. You will develop and implement strategic sales plans, identify new business opportunities, and maintain strong relationships with clients and insurance partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans and strategies to achieve revenue targets and maximize profitability in the short-term commercial insurance sector.
- Lead, motivate, and coach the sales team to meet and exceed performance targets, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, insurance brokers, and underwriters, serving as the primary point of contact for all sales-related inquiries and negotiations.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities through proactive prospecting, lead generation, and networking activities.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to develop promotional campaigns and materials to support sales efforts and increase brand awareness in the target market.
- Analyse market trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for business growth and innovation.
- Work closely with underwriters to assess risk, customize insurance solutions, and ensure timely and accurate policy issuance.
- Conduct regular sales meetings and performance reviews to track progress, address challenges, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Develop and maintain sales forecasts, budgets, and other financial reports to monitor performance and inform strategic decision-making.
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for sales team members to enhance their product knowledge, sales skills, and overall effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies and procedures, maintaining accurate records and documentation as required.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to promote products and services and expand professional networks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, claims, and customer service, to ensure seamless delivery of insurance products and exceptional customer experiences.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or a related field. MBA or professional insurance qualifications preferred.
- Proven track record of success in sales management, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Strong understanding of short-term commercial insurance products, markets, and industry trends.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, brokers, and underwriters.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software.
