Description

Responsibilities

Store Operations Management

  • Ensure the store opens and closes on time following the established schedule.
  • Maintain the store's appearance and visual merchandising to create an inviting shopping environment.
  • Implement effective inventory management strategies to optimise stock levels and minimise shrinkage.
  • Monitor and manage cash handling procedures and ensure accuracy in cash register operations.
  • Assist cashier for customer payment in cash, credit card, and other payment methods for purchases, issue receipts, refunds, credits, or change to customers as needed.Count and verify cash in the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift if assistance is required.

Customer Service

  • Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service to all customers.
  • Handle customer enquiries, complaints, and escalations promptly and professionally.
  • Train and motivate the store team to provide outstanding customer assistance and support.

Sales and Revenue Generation

  • Set sales targets and develop strategies to achieve them.
  • Monitor sales performance regularly, analyse trends, and implement measures to improve sales.
  • Identify opportunities for cross-selling and up selling to maximise revenue.

Staff Management and Training

  • Recruit, hire, and train competent and customer-oriented retail staff.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to improve team performance.
  • Ensure adequate staffing levels to meet business demands and manage staff schedules effectively.
  • Plan Working Schedule for all staff members.

Product Management

  • Oversee stock replenishment and ensure availability of popular products.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and purchasing teams to maintain optimal product assortment.
  • Conduct regular stock audits to track inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies.

Marketing and Promotions

  • Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and execute in-store and door-to door promotions and events.
  • Use creative merchandising techniques to highlight new products and promotions effectively.-Use online medium such as SNS for store promotions.

Health and Safety Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the store.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and train staff on safety procedures.

Financial Management 

  • Prepare and manage the store budget, expenses, and financial reports.
  • Analyse financial data and take appropriate actions to optimise profitability.

  • Proven experience as a Retail Shop Manager or in a similar retail management role.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
  • Proficient in inventory management and sales analysis.
  • Knowledge of retail software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet sales targets and drive revenue growth.
  • Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours as required.
