Description

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Restaurant Manager to lead our team in delivering exceptional dining experiences at The Overhang. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality, particularly in Zanzibar, with a track record of catering to international clientele. This role requires effective leadership skills, a keen understanding of restaurant trends, and the ability to work collaboratively with both local and Western management.

Key Responsibilities:

Hospitality Expertise:

  • Extensive experience in the hospitality industry, particularly in Zanzibar, with a focus on serving international clientele.
  • Familiarity with restaurant trends and best practices, staying informed about industry developments and innovations.

Leadership and Teamwork:

  • Lead by example in fostering a positive and collaborative work environment, emphasizing the importance of teamwork and mutual respect.
  • Work effectively under the guidance of a Western General Manager, providing leadership to the restaurant staff while supporting overall management objectives.

Compliance and Standards:

  • Ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain consistency and quality in service delivery.
  • Uphold restaurant rules and regulations, overseeing the implementation of policies and procedures by the team.

Communication and Collaboration:

  • Possess excellent communication skills in English and Swahili, facilitating effective communication with both guests and staff.
  • Collaborate closely with the kitchen team to coordinate smooth operations and ensure timely service delivery.

Organizational Skills:

  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills, including the ability to structure the restaurant and bar operations efficiently.
  • Understand the importance of mise en place and ensure that all team members are aware of their roles and responsibilities.
