What are we looking for?
A Reservations & Back-office Manager serving at Kendwa Rocks Hotel is always working on behalf of our Guests and working with other team members. This is a senior position and will supervise the front office manager, bookings department, rooms’ division manager and will report to only the directors of the company. This role requires a minimum of 5 years work experience as a senior manager in hospitality. To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviors, skills, and values that follow:

• Problem-solving skills, adaptability, flexibility, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong customer orientation and communication skills.
• Written and oral fluency in English. Bonus languages are; French, Italian, Russian & Arabic.
Responsibilities:
• Proficiency and ability to master both third-party reservations software’s (Booking.com, Expedia, Sitemider, etc.) and internal company software’s (Fidelio, Volante, SunSystems, etc.)
• Forecasting revenue streams
• Scheduling work-shifts of all personnel
• Verifying that room status information is accurate
• Resolving guest issues quickly, efficiently, and courteously
• Enforcing all cash-handling and credit policies
• Maximizing room revenue and occupancy
• Ensuring implementation of all hotel policies and house rules
• Keeping records of all necessary information related to the company (company’s purchase and revenue dealings, reviews, bookings, etc.)
• Liaising with directors to set and schedule new rate plans and promotions
• Liaising with travel agents, the revenue manager, and the rooms division manager
• Maximize room occupancy with up-selling techniques
• Managing the sales team in setting their rates
• Know the different room categories, room rates and services/guest activities that we offer
• Invoice clients & process payments
• Carry out tasks entrusted by the General Manager
• Managing your teams effectively
• On occasion, you might be required to work longer hours and attend events that take place on the property such as but not limited to the Full Moon Party
• Establish friendly relationships with regular hotel clients and VIP’s
• Responding to guests needs and anticipating their unstated ones
• Promote hotel services and third-party services and products offered in the hotel such as but not limited to; Full Moon Party, VIP sales, information about Zanzibar Watersports, Malaika Tattoo, etc.
