Mwitikio wa Kudhibiti Kifua Kikuu na Ukimwi Tanzania (MKUTA) is a Non-Governmental Organization in Tanzania providing Community-based TB/HIV health education, active case finding, contact tracing and promoting access to essential treatment among the general populations and Key and vulnerable populations.

Project information
MKUTA through the support from Management and Development for Health (MDH) seeks to recruit suitable candidate to fill the positions of five (5) Regional community TB Consultant to oversee implementation of community TB services in five regions of Tanzania namely: Kagera, Mbeya, Simiyu, Shinyanga and Tanga.
Terms of References (TOR)
The Regional community TB Consultant will be responsible for the following key tasks:

  1. Work closely with RTLC/DTLCs by providing substantive and timely input in the implementation of the Regional Tuberculosis and TB/HIV programs, including reporting on progress vis-à-vis planned activities and expected outputs.
  2. Responsible for the direct management of Regional community TB project including; planning, execution, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of project implementation, budget management, CSOs and CBOs management.
  3. Support identified CBOs that are basically implementing TB interventions for capacity building in implementing MDR-TB and TB/HIV collaborative activities.
  4. Help the CSO/CBOs in planning and implementing community interventions
  5. Conduct supervision and mentorship visits to CBOs as per need arise in order to improve their capacity in delivering community TB response.
  6. Support capacity building trainings in implementing MDR-TB and TB/HIV collaborative activities.
  7. Coordinate overall implementation, monitoring and evaluation of project activities as per approved work-plan and budget and ensure that MDH attains and exceeds assigned targets
  8. Review compiled reports before submission to MoH and MDH and incorporate lessons learnt into the decision-making process.
  9. Coordinate the timely preparation of the quarterly and annual work plans and activity schedules; provide input for the periodic reports to the Global Fund.
  10. Ensure timely collection and provision of requested information for the quarterly progress reports
  11. Liaise with MDH and prepare accelerated workplans where appropriate;
  12. To submit Regional monthly report to MDH for all implemented activities
  13. Do any other job-related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

Required Qualifications: (Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience)

  1. Minimum Qualification required: It’s mandatory to have health background, Bachelor Degree in Medicine, Community Development, Sociology with medical background, Project Management, Public Health and other related fields.
  2. Preferred: Master’s Degree in Public Health, Project Management, M&E and other social science with health background related fields.
  3. Experience: 3-5 years in management of TB and/or health related program/ services including
    i. 3+ years’ experience in TB prevention, case detection and treatment programs/ services
    ii. 3+ years’ experience in supervision, monitoring and evaluation of donor funded health programs. Previous experience with Global Fund projects is highly desirable
    iii. Extensive knowledge of the local health systems from the national to the local levels.
    iv. Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire and manage teams to achieve intended results including team building and coordination
    v. Experience in preparation and analysis of work plans, reports (programmatic and financial)
    vi. Ability to develop productive working relationships with counterparts in other agencies and organizations nationally.
    vii. Aware of and sensitive to working in multiple socio-economic settings and with multi-cultural/behavioral groups
    viii. Ability to represent MKUTA programs in District or Regional level stakeholders’ meetings.
    ix. Excellent command of Swahili and English languages, in written and oral communication
    x. Ability to work under pressure and stringent deadlines
