Overview
Be part of the nation’s only repository for the disposal of nuclear waste known as Transuranic (TRU) waste.
Salado Isolation Mining Contractors, LLC (SIMCO), managing and operating contractor of the Waste Isolation Pilot Plant (WIPP) is currently seeking a qualified individual to serve as a Radiological Program Administrator and join our team located in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Responsibilities
Successful candidate will be the database administrator for VSDS and for Sentinel. Position will be responsible for reviewing and editing RadCon documents such as Radiological Work Permits and Procedures. This person will be responsible for tracking and expediting document approvals. Position will assist with WIPP Forms, Corrective Action Reviews, and Corrective Action Plans. Candidate will prepare technical reports. This person will mentor and assist new hires coming into the department, including Level 1 instructor duties. The position will provide support for all functions of the Radiological Controls Organization as determined by management.
Minimum Requirements

- Associate’s degree in Science with four (4) years of related experience, or
- High School Diploma or Equivalency with eight (8) years of related experience is required.
- Must have at least three (3) years of experience as a Radiological Controls Technician.
- Must be skilled in technical writing, have proficient communication skills, pay close attention to details, and be persistent in moving assignments forward.
Must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.
Higher education attainment than listed acceptable per internal level identifiers of accompanying years of experience.

Non-exempt grade level(s) 28-30. Minimum salary $69,444 per year of a larger salary range --the specific salary offered to a candidate will be influenced by a variety of factors, particularly the candidate’s relevant experience and education.
