About the job
We are looking for a Property Manager to ensure all our villas and hotel rooms maintain perfect 'guest ready’ status, through the combination of furnishing replacements, maintenance fixes, and general ‘face-lifts’. There’s only so much our cleaning teams can do in their cleaning windows - and that’s where you will come in!
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a good level of experience in this area to join a young and friendly company operating here on the East Coast.
Tasks
- Continuous inspection of all villas, ensuring ‘guest ready’ status at all times
- Cross-checking furnishing lists, to ensure each villa has the correct amount of all furnishings
- Identifying maintenance issues and coordinating relevant team members (electricians/ plumbers/ carpenters) for fixes
- Conducting the necessary preventative measures to decrease overall issues
- Creating and updating a list of skilled and trusted professionals (fundis) and engaging them appropriately
- Negotiating rates, briefing on tasks, and monitoring all works by external professionals
- Daily management and administration of our property issues list on Asana
- Attending weekly property management meetings to discuss current tasks/challenges
- General operations tasks such as organizing staff uniforms and ordering equipment for other teams
Requirements
- 5+years in property management for hotels and/or villas in the hospitality sector
- A keen eye for detail, with an understanding of holiday makers’ expectations of ‘guest ready’
- Highly organised, and able to administer basic digital applications (Telegram, Asana)
- Knowledge of how and where to source common furnishing items on the island
- A strong understanding of common maintenance issues and their required fixes
- The ability to interact effectively with a wide range of professionals - most notably, fundis
- Strong understanding and practical knowledge of property maintenance tasks
- A quick critical thinker with a fast-action mindset to quickly resolve all issues encountered
- Ideally possess an existing network of skilled and reliable fundis
- Great written and verbal communication in Swahili and English (any other language is a bonus!)
